Change General Consensus
General consensus is the minimum share of GP votes (as a percentage) a proposal must reach to be executed. The Change General Consensus proposal (change_general_consensus) changes this value for the entire DAO.
Raising general consensus makes DAO decision-making harder — it requires support from a larger share of GPs. Lowering it, conversely, makes decision-making easier.
To change general consensus:
Open the DAO → the Votes tab → click the + icon (Create Proposal).
Select the DAO and the Change General Consensus proposal type, then click Create.
Fill in the proposal title and description, and set the voting period (2, 3, or 4 days, or a custom duration in days/hours/minutes — minimum 1 minute).
The form shows the DAO's current general consensus (in %). Set the new value with the slider (5% steps) or enter a number manually in the field below — the new value must differ from the current one.
Click Create to submit the proposal for a vote.
Change General Consensus is one of the proposal types that change the DAO's voting rules. If the DAO already has active votes, creating this kind of proposal triggers a warning: all currently active votes will be stopped and their results voided.
Once GPs vote and the current general consensus is reached, the new value takes effect and applies to all subsequent DAO proposals.
